That long-awaited Silver Lake Whole Foods is finally starting to take shape after lots of delays, and following the ouster of fellow national grocery chain Ralph’s a few months back. Windows are papered up and the parking lot is just begging to get overcrowded with Priuses and baby strollers, but now it looks like that won’t happen until sometime in the middle of 2016.
As The Eastsider reports following a Silver Lake Neighborhood Council meeting on the subject, Whole Foods reps are targeting a late summer arrival for the storefront. They’ll be re-envisioning the whole plaza as it currently exists, opening up the space and giving the former Ralph's frontage a fresh look much more in line with the Whole Foods brand. To make enough room, the grocery store is taking over everything from CVS on down, merging the units into one big mega-location.

Inside, beyond the all-natural beauty products and salad bar, there are plans to serve beer and wine by way of a 51-seat indoor/outdoor dining area with attached wine bar. That will also include special wine tastings on site, and likely some other alcohol-focused evening events on par with what other Whole Foods (like the one in Pasadena) regularly put on.
In all, Silver Lake’s imminent Whole Foods arrival looks to be a large upgrade from the smaller Ralph’s that existed beforehand. Now all that’s left for the locals to do is wait.
