Heywood Grilled Cheese Shop has resided on the corner of Sunset Blvd and Micheltorena for the last four years selling gourmet grilled cheeses, bowls of tomato soup, and more on the eastern edge of Silver Lake. While places like Lark Cake Shop and the newer Night + Market Song hold court on this section of Sunset, the landlord just didn't want to renew Heywood's lease. Something new is coming into the prime location, but Heywood's tenure comes to an end on June 30, which leaves just under two weeks to enjoy the Eastside's favorite grilled cheese boutique. No news yet on the upcoming tenant, but it will be another food business. Hopefully it serves the neighborhood as well as Heywood did.
