Just over a year ago, word came down that Echo Park’s former City Sip space (which had sat dormant for many months) would be turning into a new indoor-outdoor wine bar concept known as Bar Bandini. Since then, the address on Sunset Boulevard has been mostly quiet, as ownership first needed to get their paperwork in order.

Neighborhood approval to sell on-site alcohol as a wine bar and also do takeaway bottle sales was eventually reached (though the ABC license is still pending), and the physical space has been strictly under tarps as construction continued over the past few months. But as The Eastsider reports, that hasn’t stopped ownership from posting photos on Instagram and even throwing a recent pre-opening party inside.

Though there’s no official indication as to how fully finished the interiors are, the space looks to remain mostly as a mellowed out rustic wine space, with lots of bar stools, plenty of tap handles, and an open ceiling. The patio itself remains under construction, but with summer officially here the wait likely won’t be long. Friends and family kicked off last week, so Bar Bandini’s arrival could come any day now.
