And only six months in.

Well, blink and you (probably) missed it. Hamburguesas Punta Cabras, the beefy Downtown side project from the Tacos Punta Cabras folks, is no more.

Dropping few details across their various social media channels, the Hamburguesas team says that they’re closed for good — or at least until a new location can be found and fitted to suit their needs. Apparently, as mentioned on Facebook, a tough landlord and worse exhaust hood were the downfall of the former Mai’s Mexican Kitchen location on Spring Street.

On their website, owners Josh Gil and Daniel Snukal leave this note behind:

After a 6-month run at a location in Downtown Los Angeles, we're searching for a new spot. In the meantime, we are available for catering and are still running Tacos Punta Cabras in Santa Monica.

Want to help bring their burgers back to life? Shoot ‘em a note about any possible workable spaces you might know about — they’re actively looking.
