An angry man nearly ran over his girlfriend but ended up crashing his SUV into the patio of East India Grill on La Brea on Sunday afternoon, reports CBS News. While the restaurant was open at the time, no one was injured in the wreck, though some tables were smashed.

Apparently the ordeal occurred after the couple in question had argued at a nearby gas station, whereupon the man threatened his girlfriend. When she walked down the street, the driver came raging back with the SUV, only to ram into poor East India Grill, which is one of the better Indian restaurants in town.

CBS News claims that no arrests were made or attempted because there was insufficient evidence that the driver was intentionally trying to run his girlfriend over, though police are currently investigating the accident. KTLA is a little more certain, saying that police were on the hunt after using the vehicle as a deadly weapon. When police arrived at the scene, the man had fled.
