West coast Harry Potter nerds rejoice! Universal Studios Hollywood announced today that a Wizard World of Harry Potter will open in the Los Angeles-based theme park in 2016. According to a press release, there will be a number of themed restaurants.
The Hollywood amusement park will also include a Three Broomsticks restaurant, which is a tavern from the Harry Potter series, similar to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter attractions in Orlando, Florida and Osaka, Japan. Both the Orlando and Osaka locations serve "traditional British dishes," so the Hollywood location will most likely offer items like fish & chips and shepherd's pie.
The park will also include a Hog's Head Pub which is located adjacent to the Three Broomsticks in the books. There will also be plenty of Butterbeer carts around the park serving up different versions of the sweet butterscotch drink made famous in the series. And for those with a huge sweet tooth, the park will also feature the books' quirky candy shop Honeydukes. This will be the third Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction.
