Beverly Hills gumshoes are hot on the case today of a well-heeled restaurant patron who decided that he’d rather attack his valet driver than pay for parking. It all went down just days ago at The Stinking Rose on La Cienega, a tourist-driven spot known primarily for their garlicky overload and lack of street parking.
Apparently, the vicious combination of mediocre food and not having the cash at the end of the night to pay the valet led one customer to hit the attendant with his car, carrying the poor sap on the hood for 30 feet before shaking him off and beating a hasty retreat.
As NBC4 Los Angeles reports, no one was ultimately hurt in the fracas, but the Beverly Hills Police Department really is after an unknown assailant (hitting someone with your car is, besides generally being a social faux pas, a felony) who made off in a grey Mercedes with paper license plates.
Mostly everyone just feels bad for the valet, who — besides getting the ride of his life on the hood of a moving car — was also apparently spit on by the angry customer, after said customer claimed to not have the money to pay for the parking. No matter what your stance is on Los Angeles' upcoming $15 minimum wage, absolutely no one deserves to make less than a living wage while getting a face full of hot post-garlic spit.
