WeHo's Eat Well Can't Decide What to Change Into, Maybe Moves from Ramen to Biscuits

Or something.

Farley Elliott is the Senior Editor at Eater LA and the author of Los Angeles Street Food: A History From Tamaleros to Taco Trucks. He covers restaurants in every form, from breaking news to the culture, people, and history that surrounds LA's dining landscape.

Is Eat Well’s plan to pivot into a ramen shop called Slurp not happening after all? Formerly, the West Hollywood restaurant’s next move seemed involve — as told via an ABC license — lots of Japanese noodles, plus beer and wine, but since those early rumblings things have been quiet.

In fact, Eat Well is still up and running as-is, serving customers daily. But now comes a new paper trail that leads not to Slurp, but a bunch of real estate folks. Lucid West Realty is a brokerage firm around town, and an LLC they’ve created (Lucid West Entertainment Group) would seem to highlight their move into the nightlife/restaurant space.

There’s even a name attached to the new beer and wine permit for the address — California Biscuit Company — which, if not directly attached to the Downtown Biscuit Company Lofts people, would make the West Hollywood version essentially impossible to Google. So what’s actually coming in here? A morning mimosa spot with a former Pine State Biscuits baker attached (just a guess)? A trendy late night hotspot filled with faux-industrial mixers and harsh lighting? Some big ol’ lofts with ground floor drinkin’ in one of those chic modern bars that places like Seattle love? Apparently — just like the French Market Place nearby — no one’s quite sure what they’re doing yet.
