— Lots of ice cream news, as Sweet Rose Creamery adds to their portfolio with a new location in Studio City. Seems like just yesterday they were eyeing up the Palisades.

— Meanwhile, the Sweet Lucie’s Ice Cream and Treats truck pushed into a brick and mortar space in Mar Vista. Just in time for all this swampy heat, too.

— Meanwhile in Northridge, the beloved Humble Bee Bakery & Cafe is cleaning up nice, with a fancy new storefront and everything! Boy do people love their cakes.

— The Trois Mec dudes are already going #FullToucan in their colorful new shot from inside Alegria on Sunset. In the comments, multiple Silver Lake residents claim to be, quote, "stoked" at the move.

— Hollywood’s Hungry Cat location is gearing up for yet another crab-fueled summer party this weekend, with their 11th annual seafood feast. Tickets are still on sale.

— In the South Bay, Abigaile is doing a five-course dinner with Ninkasi Brewing from Eugene, Oregon. Tickets are $60, and yes there are plans for foie gras.

Chris Bianco seemed to enjoy his time in LA, cooking with Bruce Kalman of Pasadena’s Union. Last night’s $200 benefit dinner went off without a hitch, though it’s unclear how Bianco is going to get back to Phoenix now that, you know, the road disappeared.

— Kitchen training is well underway at Esters in Santa Monica, the Jeremy Fox-led wine bar concept attached to the now-open Cassia. Shouldn’t be long now.
