There’s been a changing of the guard at notoriously tight-lipped Chateau Marmont. The restaurant inside the West Hollywood celebrity hotel haunt is well-known for its no photos/no social media policy, so it’s taken some time for word to reach the street that a new chef is working the stoves, and it turns out to be none other than Dean Yasharian.
The East Coast native has spent years cooking in England, first at the Michelin-ranked Midsummer House in Cambridge and more recently as executive chef at Bar Boulud inside the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London. Yasharian is even a former Chopped winner, from way back in 2009.
Now he jumps onboard the Chateau team as executive chef. A tipster first pointed out the change in the kitchen last week, but reps say Yasharian has been at the helm for a couple of weeks now, learning up the staff and, according to Instagram, hitting the farmers market hard.
Eventually, there are plans to revamp the menu at both the Chateau Marmont and adjacent Bar Marmont following the busy summer season.
