The former (if short-lived) Cafecito Organico space in Eagle Rock has a new tenant. Modan Artisanal Ramen, which first hit the scene last year as a tucked-away option in South Pasadena, is headed for the strip mall storefront, further proving that the ramen trend ain’t going anywhere.

A call to the South Pasadena location confirms the expansion, though the eatery isn’t open quite yet. Inspection is still a couple of weeks off, and then there’s training and all that, so an August debut is likely.

Still, it’s welcome news for the growing Eagle Rock dining community, which in the past couple of years has seen a wealth of new options come in, from neighborhood charmer Little Beast to Found Coffee. That particular stretch of northeast LA is perhaps a bit lacking in the ramen department anyway (not including the incoming Ozu Kitchen East slated for a fall debut in Atwater Village), so getting in a well-received option that keeps late evening hours is definitely a good thing.
