If it lands on the Westside, you know Toddrickallen is all over it. Case in point: Simplethings, the sandwich and pie shop that recently soft-opened at 808 Wilshire Boulevard.
Photos show the, well, simple interior that the sweet-and-savory shop has become known for across their locations in Burbank, West Third, and Westwood. Clean white remains the dominant color as the place tries to keep a homey feel, though blond wood accents and open shelving are a nice touch. Otherwise, the room is rather spare, and seems built for a heavy takeout business; not a bad idea, considering the collection of walkers and office workers on the street during the day.
The menu for Santa Monica’s Simplethings is now online too, showcasing the usual assortment of daily pies (there’s a schedule for when they come out and everything!) and all-day sandwiches. In the AM, spring for one with an over easy egg, bacon, and breakfast potatoes, or go for the afternoon roast beef with a side of Brussels sprouts. Brunch, apparently, is coming soon.
Simplethings Santa Monica is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
