The fallout continues in the ongoing #GrandeGate scandal. For the record, that’s the one where, yesterday, pop star Ariana Grande decided to apparently lick a bunch of doughnuts at a Lake Elsinore shop and then say she hates America. No big deal.
First there was the inevitable TMZ video leak, then the upcoming concert cancellation (not linked to the blossoming scandal, she claims), and more recently a slew of mean tweets mentioning the singer and the word ISIS together. But the really troubling news is coming from the doughnut shop itself, Wolfee Donuts, which LAist claims is potentially in hot oil water for the seriously unsanitary incident.
Though Riverside County police aren’t looking to file criminal charges, the health department isn’t above taking a look at the film and issued a demotion to a B grading, according to CBS News.
As the video shows, an employee left some doughnuts unattended while going into the back to retrieve a hot batch, not realizing apparently that Grande would go all lizard on the tray and sneak a taste for herself. If it's deemed to be a repeat sort of performance (leaving those doughnuts out for all to see/taste/touch)... well, that wouldn't be great for Wolfee.
But the best line from the LAist article: "Doughnuts at the shop sold out that night, meaning it’s possible someone ate a doughnut laced with Grande’s spittle."
Ugh.
