One Central Coast creamery — and no, we’re not talking about McConnell’s — is making a Westside splash, according to Toddrickallen. This time it’s Rori’s, an organic ice cream maker with outfits up in Santa Barbara, who has plans to dip into Santa Monica.

The new retail shop will sit at 910 Montana Avenue, per this Facebook post, inside a glassy space that was formerly a clothing boutique. Now it’s being retrofitted for a late fall opening in the neighborhood.

Rori’s uses Straus family dairy and eggs, which means grass-fed, organic cream. From there, the shop whips up flavors as straightforward as salted caramel and vanilla bean, and as esoteric as malted milk ball and honey lavender.

With a (hopefully) wet fall and winter in the works, here’s to hoping that Rori’s can arrive sooner rather than later. Though, really, there’s never a bad time for ice cream.
