Hollywood (the entertainment side) already loves Sugarfish, but now it's time for Hollywood (the neighborhood) to do the same. Starting next week, locals won’t have to make the move to La Brea or beyond to enjoy the Nozawa empire’s beloved fresh fish concept: it should hit Sunset Boulevard in the next few days.

Sugarfish Hollywood was first announced some 11 months ago, back when construction was still underway at the Columbia Square mixed-user right on Sunset Boulevard. Since then, the nails have all been driven in, the sidewalk nicely swept, and — quietly — the signage hung for the mid-scale sushi stop. Customers have been excitedly tweeting and Instagramming the new location ever since, and as of early next week those same folks should be able to dive right in for a taste of the high-quality concept. Plus, there's beer and wine!

With so much entertainment industry activity right near the new Sugarfish address, it’s a wonder that more hasn’t been done until now to lure in the bigwigs floating around. The new location sits across the street from Gower Gulch and around the corner from Roscoe’s, and all within a stone’s throw of Sunset Gower Studios, Siren Studios, Emerson College, Technicolor, and more.

Along with Tender Greens just a bit further down, neighbors should have a couple of great, reasonably healthy options for a fast lunch. And with Coffee Commissary and La Monarca holding down the breakfast game, it’s suddenly a surprisingly good time to be working along that stretch of Sunset Boulevard.

No official word on when Sugarfish Hollywood will choose to open its doors, but expect something by Monday or Tuesday. And if you live a bit further east, don't worry: there's a Sugarfish coming to Pasadena too.
