Beverly Hills has been quietly awaiting the arrival of Canon Club, a new seafood-centric spot that originally had plans to land back in March. Turns out they won’t have to hold on much longer.

The dinner spot has been coming along for a while, first landing an idealized opening date around March 1, but even at the time that date seemed unlikely to happen (what with the extensive build-out needed). And so various scheduling hiccups came to pass (and pass) until today, when an October unveiling was announced by the team.

Things do certainly seem to be falling into place, especially now that chef Edy Lucas (most recently at All'Acqua as sous chef) has been pulled away to run the kitchen as chef de cuisine. Formerly part of the opening team at Fishing With Dynamite, Lucas is no stranger to seafood — a trait being put to good use, thanks to Canon Club’s proposed raw bar and ocean-focused wood-fired menu.

When it opens, look for Canon Club to immediately begin competing with the likes of Ocean Prime for the coveted high-end Beverly Hills seafood dollar.
