— For a nifty and beautifully photographed lineup of "old school" restaurants in Los Angeles, Bon Appetit has a roundup that includes everything from Musso & Frank, The Original Pantry Cafe, and Langer's Deli.

— LA Coffee Club and Caffe Luxxe are doing a coffee and whiskey pairing tomorrow in Culver City, with only a few tickets remaining. More info here.

— Beacher's Madhouse, that vaudeville-style variety and dinner show, returns to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel after a two-year hiatus. The grand opening for the show is set for September, with shows on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Past celebrity-riddled shows have included Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and Joe Jonas. Tickets available here.

— If you're lucky, you might catch The Walker Inn's new cocktail menu, which they're hinting might commence tonight. — Sounds like some serious research went into compiling this best-of banh mi roundup in L.A., but the listicle includes ASAP Phorage, Gjusta, little-known Kien Giang in Echo Park, and Tip Top at the top. [LA Weekly]

— Oh, more on sandwiches. If you're into tortas, this spot in Huntington Park has the largest torta menu in the city.

— If you love lobster rolls, this is your ticket to nirvana. Next Thursday, rock and (lobster) roll at L.A. Center Studios for Tasting Table's lobster roll rumble.
