Watch This Walk-Through of the Old Villa Nova Space With One of the Original Owners

Silver screen history comes to life.

Farley Elliott is the Senior Editor at Eater LA and the author of Los Angeles Street Food: A History From Tamaleros to Taco Trucks. He covers restaurants in every form, from breaking news to the culture, people, and history that surrounds LA's dining landscape.

Here's a more in-depth look at the not-gone-just-hiding history behind the old Villa Nova space on the Sunset Strip. Long a haunt for Old Hollywood legends — it's the spot where Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe apparently first met — the restaurant is now called The Rainbow Bar & Grill, but retains much of the history of the old place.

Check out the video from Vintage L.A.'s Alison Martino, which chronicles some of the more interesting historical tidbits and enduring oddities of the place.
