— Sad news out of Eater Vegas this morning. Beloved Las Vegas-based chef Kerry Simon has passed away as a result of complications related to a severe and rare form of Parkinson's disease called MSA, multiple system atrophy. The beloved "Rock n' Roll Chef" operated Simon Kitchen & Bar at the Hard Rock Hotel, Simon at Palms Place, KGB at Harrah's, and downtown Las Vegas' Carson's Kitchen along with Simon LA and LA Market in Los Angeles.
— Alon Las Vegas, the $8 billion project on the former 34.6-acre Strip site of the New Frontier, is still three years away from completion, but plenty of details are being locked down on the (V)VIP resort. Featuring a 26-floor main tower, 17-floor VIP tower, a few "maisonettes" for those extra VIPs, and a day/nightclub, it's sure to become one of the hottest spots in town.
— Are prix-fixes the wave of the future for Las Vegas? Five Caesars Entertainment resort restaurants will offer prix-fixe menus in the hopes of encouraging guests to try something new. These limited time events include discounted meals at BLT Steak at Bally's, Martorano's at Paris, VooDoo Steakhouse at Rio, Payard Patisserie & Bistro at Caesars, and Burger Brasserie at Paris.
