SF Darling Mr. Holmes Bakehouse Expanding Into Highland Park Next Year

Big news for the Instagramable brand.

San Francisco bakery Mr. Holmes Bakehouse is plotting a big ol’ expansion, which ultimately will see them land a joint wholesale/retail space in Highland Park.

In what should be welcome news for any Bay Area transplant (or just folks who have long been fans of their Instagram account), the Mr. Holmes team hopes to have a full-fledged bakery in play by March or so of next year. Ultimately, you’ll even be able to enjoy their wonderful mix of cruffins (those are croissant muffins), savory danish, and other sweets at coffee shops throughout the Southland.

Per Eater SF, the move to Los Angeles has been in the works for some time, but ultimately lands in the middle of a bit of tumult within the organization. Owner Aaron Caddel and opening pastry chef Ry Stephen recently decided to mutually part ways (they remain friends), and new pastry chef Brittany Delval is now at the helm. Interestingly enough for L.A., Delval previously worked as a recipe developer for none other than King’s Hawaiian.

Highland Park sure is hungry for pastries these days, what with the incoming Andre Guerrero shop and the recently-opened La Monarca. Look for Mr. Holmes Bakeshop to land in early spring 2016.
