This one gets weird.

Hollywood may be shuttering burger places at an alarming rate these days, but there’s at least one man willing to bet big on hamburgers, tourists, and the Walk of Fame. Enter, appropriately enough, Hollywood Burger, a forthcoming fast casual option across from the Pantages Theater.

Signage is already up — oddly, it bears a striking resemblance to the Church’s Chicken logo — for the upcoming Hollywood Boulevard space, but there isn't much else to immediately go on. However, a bit of digging reveals that Hollywood Burger is actually an international brand, if you can believe it, with an existing standalone location in San Rafael, Argentina and another outpost in Dubai.

By the looks of things, a fella by the name of Scott Mathis, who owns Algodon Partners and Mathis Ventures, founded the company and now has managed to bring the Hollywood Burger brand straight to the heart of its namesake, taking over what was formerly a simple Spanish option called Solo Tapas.

The menu here is pretty straightforward, with burgers, hotdogs (one has “Hollywood’s signature chili” on it) and milkshakes, and there are also calls for straight up ice cream, strawberry pie, and even breakfast sandwiches. It looks like the ABC license for Solo Tapas is still active as well, so perhaps there's some booze in Hollywood Burger's future?

Right now there’s not much other information available, though an official opening doesn’t seem to be far off (you can see proposed renderings here). Hopefully the place is halfway decent, and gives W Hotel sleepers and evening tourists a reasonably-priced place to chow down.
