Build-out for the West Coast’s first-ever Halal Guys franchise is now complete, with the Costa Mesa location looking all sorts of spiffed up. Inside, training is underway for an anticipated October 2 unveiling.

The 36-seat strip mall space sits right in the heart of Costa Mesa’s traffic triangle, no more than two stop lights from three different freeways. And with parking taken care of thanks to their large shopping plaza lot (which also includes a Creamistry), it’s entirely conceivable that Angelenos could be enjoying their own tin of halal cart chicken and rice within an hour of stepping into their car.

Otherwise, you’ll have to wait a bit longer: there’s an upcoming Long Beach outlet which should be ready sometime later this year, along with another 48 area locations that franchise owners plan to drop across Southern California, from Santa Barbara to San Diego.

Inside, the speedy space has half the feel of a Chipotle — overhead menu boards, gleaming tile, a quick service ordering procession that ends at the register — and should be able to turn over orders in under a minute. The plan is to eventually keep all-day hours too, including late night.

Look for the Halal Guys to officially open in Costa Mesa on October 2.
