West Hollywood’s BCN has arrived, according to Yelp at least. The Spanish-tinted Boystown destination quietly came alive over the past couple of days, serving their particular brand of Barcelona snack food.

The main dish, of course, is the bikini, a casual sandwich that sort of straddles the line between croque monsieur and all-out grilled cheese. It’s a pressed and grilled jamón and cheese affair, and is meant to be a kind of easygoing finger food for the masses. Elsewhere on the menu there are baguette sandwiches, Catalan flatbreads, and Spain’s famed tortilla española.

It’s a fast turnaround for BCN, which sits in the former Bossy Wife Co. space right on Santa Monica Boulevard. The Ana Henton-designed space is now on full display, with Barcelona native owners Jaume and Joan Anfruns on hand to oversee things for the moment. As for a chef, former Oxalis sous chef Paul Barbosa is in the kitchen.

The BCN website still displays a big ol’ Coming Soon, so don’t expect locked-in hours just yet, but they're at least slated for 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and until 11 p.m. on weekend nights. They’re soft open, but that should change quickly enough.
