Noted Spanish chef Perfecto Rocher has been out of the limelight lately, at least since his run at Smoke.Oil.Salt., the restaurant he helped found on Melrose, came to an end. Now he’s back in Los Angeles, prepping for a guest chef stint at none other than Hinoki + The Bird.
The dinners are part of what Hinoki chef Brandon Kida is dubbing Travel-Inspired, a series of ongoing installs with chef friends of his, based largely on their international travels. For his part, Rocher has certainly been holding up to the travel part — his Instagram of late has put him all over the globe.
Now that he’s back, expect a mix of family-style dinners and coursed out prix fixe options to suit the Century City crowd. First up is a Sunday, October 4 paella night priced at $55, followed by an $85 five course affair the following Monday. After that, both menus will be available on Sundays and Monday throughout the month of October.
