The poke trend heads south.

While the poke takeover has been dominating the Southland, Long Beach is finally getting its first tuna-centric spot along 1st street. The vacancy left after Rocco's Italian Deli abruptly vacated its space in the East Village due to its owner's conviction of sexual assault charges, is being filled with a second location of Poke Bar, which originates in WeHo and is the offspring of Northridge's longstanding Yanagi Sushi.

Offering traditional poke recipes with options galore, the Poke Bar also brings Cali flavors like including gluten free shoyo sauce and quinoa to the Hawaiian treat. Signage is up at the moment, with the Long Beach expansion looking to open in the next few weeks.
