Alfred Coffee Keeps the Party Rolling With New West Third Street Espresso Bar

Scheduled for a February arrival.

Farley Elliott is the Senior Editor at Eater LA and the author of Los Angeles Street Food: A History From Tamaleros to Taco Trucks. He covers restaurants in every form, from breaking news to the culture, people, and history that surrounds LA's dining landscape.

The Alfred Coffee team just keeps on rolling, this time landing on West Third Street.

As if owner Joshua Zad didn’t have enough going on, what with his recent Silver Lake opening and his still-anticipated Studio City outpost. The proposed site, according to Racked which first pulled the scoop, is taking over the Anine Bing fashion storefront spot at 8130 West Third Street.

It’s a small, tall space that comes with a pretty nice patio out back, apparently, but is much tighter than the initially-proposed storefront right next door. Still, it fits right in with the Alfred Coffee model (tiny spaces, cool aesthetics, and lots of espresso drinks), and carries an anticipated arrival of February.

In the meantime, Zad and the rest of the group will focus on their other projects around town, and an as-yet-undefined pop-up will inhabit the West Third location until the new year, when a more coffee bar-specific build-out will get underway. Of course, it usually doesn’t take long for one of those Alfreds to get up and running, so February is entirely possible.
