Nighthawk, a nook of a dining space along Las Palmas just outside of Sadie, will open this coming Friday in Hollywood from nightlife maven Jeremy Fall. Inspired by Edward Hopper's iconic painting, the place offers breakfast fare from Spago alum Greg Schroeppel in the middle of the evening. That means diners get a newspaper and cup of coffee upon arrival, soaking in the breakfast-heavy menu of drunken challah French toast or "Benedict" fries with raclette cheese and smoked paprika hollandaise.
Giovanni Martinez puts together some spiked cereal milk cocktails and boozy floats to pair with the breakfast-at-midnight fare while music comes via a live DJ "jukebox." Diners can request their tunes directly with the DJ, though the standard mix will range classic rock to old-school hip hop. Hours run 10 p.m. to 2 a.m, Fridays and Saturdays, with extended hours slated for coming weeks.
