Weekend Fire Destroys Popular Denny's in La Habra

Yet another restaurant fire around town.

Bad news for Grand Slam lovers in La Habra, as an early morning fire on Friday completely gutted a beloved neighborhood Denny’sAccording to NBC4, the blaze began in the roof before spreading throughout the building.

What’s scarier still is that the place was actually open for business when the 6 a.m. multi-alarm fire call came in (this is Denny’s, after all), prompting a swift evacuation of both staff and customers. Raw overhead video from the fire shows the roof receiving the most attention, as flames leap to the sky through the center of the building. The roof burns through completely, showing the structural supports underneath, while roughly four dozen firefighters battle to keep the fire contained.

No word yet on what officially caused the blaze, though it seems restaurant fires are a common scene these days around Southern California. Longtime Silver Lake spot Fix Burger is still down following a kitchen fire, while celebrated Tar & Roses in Santa Monica is just now getting back up and running.
