Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger Revive Beloved CITY Restaurant for One Night

Border Grill chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger are bringing back their iconic L.A. restaurant CITY for one night only, as part of an ongoing calendar stunt where the pair revive the place every leap year. CITY ran from 1981 to 1994, before closing its doors, but brought to Los Angeles a bit of modern pan-international cuisine, with dishes from Thailand, Greece, Mexico, and more. Much of the cooking at the restaurant would go on to inform what is today Milliken and Feniger's Border Grill menu.

The event, which naturally takes place on February 29, is going down at the Border Grill location Downtown and will feature a variety of classic dishes from the bygone restaurant. The offered menu isn’t available yet, but expect a free-flowing parade of the restaurant’s best international eats from that era, coursed out within a prix fixe menu that totals $125.
