Orange County's restaurant boom
Things are ticking upward for Orange County, as a mini restaurant boom has taken hold. Per this OC Register story nearly 600 new restaurants have emerged since the end of the recession, and there are starting to be some strong trends emerging within that field. If you spend time eating south of the Orange Curtain, it's worth a peek at what's to come.

High end beef in 90210
Yakiniku Yazawa, that high end Japanese tabletop barbecue, has been open for a few months now in Beverly Hills in the former Bierbeisl space. Here's an early report on LA Food Talk Central, and the early word is very, very positive.

Bourbon Steak launches lunch
Glendale dinnertime spot Bourbon Steak is getting into the lunch game, and fast. The new daytime menu drops as of this Monday, and probably can't come a moment too soon, what with lunchtime spot Lemonade now in the mix, as well as Shake Shack's impending arrival later this year.
