Eightfold Brings Warm Cups of Coffee to Echo Park's Far Eastern Reaches

Looks like Echo Park’s caffeine game just got a little bit stronger, with the official opening of Eightfold Coffee on Sunset Boulevard. The whitewashed new shop sits not far from Guisados, and just down from the new Button Mash arcade bar.

As recently as late November, word was spreading in the neighborhood about Eightfold, with news that they’d be doing all-day hours and working exclusively Heart Roasters from Portland on their La Marzocco espresso machine. Then around holiday time the team soft opened to get a feel for the place, even doling out cheap coffee to endear themselves to the locals — It’s a method that certainly worked well for the already-beloved Civil Coffee in Highland Park — and as of Tuesday they've returned with regular hours.

The Eightfold space itself is pretty bare, but offers loads of natural light thanks to some tall windows up front. built-in benches run the edges of much of the room and there are a few scattershot seats, but most of the rest of the room is made up of the L-shaped white coffee counter (complete with marble slab for showcasing pastries, naturally).

Eightfold Coffee is now open on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park, and keeps daily hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
