As previously hinted at, it seems actor Danny Trejo will indeed be continuing his expansion plans with a third location of his taco concept Trejo’s Tacos onto Virgil Avenue. Work is already being done on the location — formerly the popular Romero’s Chicken N Donuts — and if you drive by with any regularity you’ll even find the company’s food truck parked in the lot out front.

This new third outlet should come fast on the heels of Trejo’s Cantina, the company’s slightly more expanded sit-down iteration in Hollywood. Both it and the La Brea original work roughly the same menu of taco favorites, but the Hollywood version also serves beer and wine from a long corner bar.

The coming Virgil Village location seems to hew more closely to the first La Brea space, with counter service and a small footprint. While old signage from the Romero’s days remains up inside, you can tell there’s not much room to work with for seating behind that counter, so don’t expect to be able to spread your wings too wide.

No word yet on when Trejo’s Tacos on Virgil will arrive, but crews are on site now and the place has already been given a matte black paint job with all the teal trimmings. Soon enough, Silver Lakers and anyone else in the near vicinity will be able to order up a menu of celebrity-driven tacos from the man with one of the most recognizable faces in all of Hollywood.
