And just like that, there’s a second Mr. Holmes Bakehouse in the works, this one primed for the heart of tony Larchmont.
If you’ve spent any time at the Go Get Em Tiger on Larchmont lately, you no doubt noticed the Mr. Holmes logo showing itself off in a storefront just steps away. And indeed it will be the Cruffin-making sensation taking over, right inside a former footwear store near the corner with Beverly.
This first new expansion is a smart one for the San Francisco-founded company, as reported two-hour lines over the weekend at their flagship in Highland Park led the space to sell out entirely by 11 a.m.
It’s a testament to the company’s enduring prowess in the pastry game, so adding new outlets all over town will not only help raise the local profile of the company, but likely defray some of the madness in Highland Park. And, if all goes as according to plan, the new Larchmont stop will also be able to keep longer evening hours so that folks commuting home for the night can stop in as well.
While no new locations beyond Larchmont have been announced just yet, expect to hear more as time goes on. In the meantime, expect the Highland Park team to up production in the coming days to try to meet the already prodigious demand.
