Look out Gilmore Girls fans: there’s a Luke’s Diner coming to you very, very soon.
Running this Wednesday only, a reproduction of the famous Luke’s Diner from the show will pop up inside two different spaces across Los Angeles — one in Studio City, and another in Beverly Hills. Each shop will be doling out free coffee from 7 a.m. to noon (or until they sell out), and will carry lots of the finer details from the Gilmore-verse for true fans to seek out.
The locations — which are usually a couple of coffee stops called Comoncy — are being temporarily flipped by Netflix in celebration of the iconic show’s 16-year anniversary. The timing, of course, also just happens to coincide with the release of the show Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life on the streaming platform on November 25, so expect to be marketed to pretty hard if you go.
That being said, true fans who can’t stay away should start making plans to line up now for what should be a very busy morning at both locations. There’s obviously demand, seeing as how Netflix is actually rolling out dozens and dozens of imitation Luke’s Diners across America, including one in Anchorage, Alaska, fifteen in California alone, and elsewhere across the country.
Can’t make it in on Wednesday? That’s a shame, but know that soon enough you’ll be able to satisfy your pop-culture-restaurant-in-real-life obsession with a drinking at the reformatted Mos Eisley Cantina from Star Wars, which should be popping up soon in Hollywood.
