Pizza Literally Stopped a Street Fight in West Hollywood

Make pizza not war

Over the weekend, a West Hollywood pizzeria’s handy outdoor security camera captured one of the Internet’s most viral videos: a special pizza delivery basically stopped a fight that was breaking out on the street. Prova Pizzeria’s owner and chef Vito Iacopelli was out on patio when a street fight broke out between two men just outside the restaurant. Then after a few seconds, Iacopelli tries to calm them down while both of fighters get fixated on the fresh pizza he was about to stop onto a table.

Then magically, the two combatants stand up, take a few slices, and chill. It certainly looks a little unbelievable on camera, and when you see the two fighters actually brawl it doesn’t look like one or the other is throwing any serious punches. But on Youtube comments, Iacopelli insists the captured footage is real. And it didn’t matter to Facebook users, who piled on more than 46 million views over the weekend, thanks to over 500,000 shares.

Apparently the video was uploaded two weeks ago on Iacopelli’s Youtube page (which does have some very popular instructional videos on how to make Neapolitan pizza), but SoFlo Media’s adaptation of the video is the one that went viral over the weekend. Next time you see a fight break out, make sure you’re ready to deliver a hot fresh pizza, because nothing makes peace better than pizza.
