Downtown’s noodle game is only going to get stronger with the arrival of Jinya Ramen to the Financial District. The endlessly popular Japanese option lands at 700 Wilshire, right next door to another high-volume overseas import: 85 Degrees Bakery.

Brigham Yen was first on the scene with news of Jinya’s arrival to the neighborhood, a fact confirmed by the company’s own website. The ramen shop has been expanding quite a bit lately, with locations in Studio City, Santa Monica, Burbank, and Mid-Wilshire, plus other outlets across the state and country.

The move into the 2,000 square foot space should take some time, with an arrival not planned until early or mid-2017, says Yen. Still, it’s another strong, slightly more casual option for a Downtown that is bursting at the seams with food right now — though no one else is going to be doing $18 bowls of lobster ramen, most likely.
