There’s a new player in sleepy Torrance these days, as casual evening option 21 Square Bar + Kitchen hopes to liven things up quite a bit. Though it's inside the Marriott Hotel Redondo Beach and across from the booming Del Amo Fashion Center, the indoor-outdoor vibe and casual menu should draw in plenty of customers.

Perhaps the two biggest features of the new 21 Square Bar + Kitchen are the 27-seat concrete-topped wraparound bar, which leaves plenty of room for solo diners and imbibers, and the outdoor patio that includes a warming fire feature and plush lounge chairs to sink into.

As for the food, expect a full bar and hearty run of craft beer options (this is the South Bay, after all). The menu also features everything from kale caesar salads to quinoa to a grass-fed beef burger, with seafood options and a $25 roasted Mary’s half-chicken to boot. The full menu is below.

21 Square Bar + Kitchen, which draws its name from the 21 square miles that make up Torrance proper, should be ready to roll by November 19. This being a hotel operation, expect hours from 6:30 a.m. to midnight daily.
