Inside Tsujita's Brand New Expansion in Glendale

LA’s best ramen gets cozy at the Americana, just in time for holiday shopping

There are few things better for a cold winter day in Los Angeles than a bowl of ramen, particularly of that bowl comes from the folks at Tsujita. Now Eastsiders can experience that same great feeling without having to trek to Sawtelle Japantown (and brave the massive lines at both of Tsujita’s locations there). Welcome in to Tsujita at the Americana at Brand, your new post-shopping destination for carbs, pork fat, and everything else that’s good in the world.

This new outlet of the popular restaurant mini-chain lands at a perfect time for Glendale in general. Mainland Poke and Shake Shack now sit directly across the street, while Din Tai Fung and Bourbon Steak are just around the corner. Eggslut is coming to Brand Boulevard soon, as is another location of Bacaro, an 85C Bakery, and there’s even a great new specialty coffee option called Highlight Coffee just down the street.

Not that Tsujita needs all that food traffic from the Americana to stay busy. The storefront is actually located just inside the complex overlooking the valet stand, and already enjoys a massive following no matter where they go.

So what can you expect from this iteration? Well first off, it’s a full-service restaurant with a more expansive menu beyond just the ramen you might know. This isn’t the cozy ramen bar seating of Tsujita Annex, but rather a well-lit all day alternative for diners who want a little more comfort with their meal. That’s not to say the hardworking staff making those bowls of ramen are tucked out of sight, though; they’re still as prominent as ever, taking up the entire back wall.

In total the place covers some 2,700 square feet, with room for 53 seated diners at a time. They’ll take both cash and credit cards too, and hope to keep lunch through dinner hours daily. Tsujita at the Americana at Brand officially opens tonight at 6 p.m.
