It’s the end of the journey for West 3rd Street’s Blue Plate Oysterette, as the seafood-focused restaurant plans to close by the end of the weekend.
Blue Plate Oysterette managed to stay afloat on the high-traffic boulevard for two years, serving happy hour oysters, full seafood dinners, and weekend lunch. But ultimately that stretch can be unforgiving to restaurants due to tough parking and high rents, so the decision was made by ownership to move on.
A statement from the Blue Plate team reads:
After two great years on West Third Street, we have decided to close Blue Plate Oysterette’s second location with the last day of service on Sunday, December 4th. We have loved being a part of the community and are so grateful for our staff, regular guests and investors for their continued support.
Of course, things are far from grim for the overall Blue Plate group. They retain their other Oysterette in Santa Monica, as well as Blue Plate Taco and the original location up on Montana. Maybe the Westside just suits them better.
The final day of service for Blue Plate Oysterette on West 3rd St. is Sunday.
