The era of chef collaborations is reaching its zenith, and may be no more clearly exemplified than the ongoing The NoMad food truck’s partnerships with big names from around Los Angeles. Next up, a burger hit from the Jon & Vinny guys.

If you’ll recall, the NoMad restaurant and hotel team from New York City is well on its way to taking over one of the most beautiful spaces in all of Downtown. To keep people excited for the arrival (which is still a ways off) Will Guidara and chef Daniel Humm have been overseeing a robin’s egg blue food truck that turns out everything from ice cream to falafel to a redone version of the restaurant’s iconic chicken burger.

The pair’s first collaboration was with none other than Roy Choi, and took place at the Line Hotel in Koreatown. That effort drew big lines almost immediately, but now they’re thinking even more hip with a collaboration with Jon Shook & Vinny Dotolo of Animal/Jon & Vinny’s fame. Their take on a chicken burger, pictured above, will feature Niman ranch bacon, American cheese, housemade BBQ sauce, and some matchstick potatoes on top.

The Jon & Vinny’s burger run starts today, and will carry through lunch hours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Every Wednesday the truck will also be parked on Fairfax, either in front of Jon & Vinny’s or Animal, and you can find them Sundays at Smorgasburg in Downtown.
