Everyone is thankfully safe after a frightening situation inside of an Eagle Rock location of Jersey Mike’s Subs last night, with one man entering the restaurant and allegedly attempting to stab several employees. He was eventually talked out of the building by police after a 90-minute standoff.

The Eastsider has news on the scary situation that unfolded last night. Apparently around 5:30 p.m. a man entered the restaurant on Colorado Boulevard, right across from Target, claiming that he was being pursued. He then allegedly stepped into the kitchen area and grabbed a knife, threatening employees until they all ran outside, locking him in. Police were called and a standoff ensued, with the assailant surrendering after more than an hour without incident.

That’s certainly a frightening scene, but not one entirely uncommon around Los Angeles unfortunately, particularly at fast food restaurants. Back in May police subdued a gunman at a Sherman Oaks In-N-Out, and in March a man literally used a 13-foot python as a weapon at a Valley sushi restaurant. Stay safe out there.
