Looks like a new turn for the shuttered Seasons 52 space in Santa Monica, as the restaurant group behind Water Grill is almost ready to debut their new debut with a concept to be called Meat on Ocean.

It’s a quirky name, to be sure, but fits for the upscale-tourist stretch of Ocean Avenue there. Expect Meat on Ocean to be a glimmering new steakhouse, a first for the operating King’s Seafood Company behind the Water Grill, PierBurger, and Fish Camp brands. They do operate a different casual steakhouse down in San Diego already, but that’s under the title Lou & Mickey’s.

The Meat on Ocean reveal comes in part from this Craigslist ad from yesterday, with the group seeking a restaurant manager. They even include an exterior rendering of the place (seen below), and an early peek at a possible logo.

So what can you expect? Much is still being ironed out, but look for a full wraparound patio, more formal dining room, and bar/lounge area. The menu should be meat-heavy, though ocean offerings are a certainty, with the whole place ultimately having a Water Grill-esque feel, complete with dark woods and a dashing vibe.

No official word on opening, but with hires like these it seems that Meat on Ocean isn’t far off.
