Big news for sweets lovers today in Silver Lake, as Filipino-inspired bakery FrankieLucy Bakeshop plans to open any day now, pending final health inspections.
The small-ish space on Sunset Boulevard lands just doors away from the recently shuttered Knuckle & Claw, and comes with backing from two of the best names in the business. The first is Kristine de la Cruz, who is behind Crème Caramel LA, one of Los Angeles’ best overall stops for sweets. The other is Annie Choi, a longtime coffee buff with her own Found Coffee doing well out in Eagle Rock. Sean Gilleland, also of Crème Caramel LA, is also on board at the all-day space.
The new FrankieLucy should accurately combine the passions of all involved, with a menu that includes Crème Caramel’s signature custards as well as pies, brownies, cookies, lemon bars, and much more. Alongside that guests can expect savory items like quiche, sandwiches, salads, and of course coffee. The full opening menu is below.
As for the space itself, FrankieLucy Bakeshop looks to be a gorgeous and colorful takeaway operation, with a couple of stools inside and out acting as the only real available seating. In truth that just leaves more room for the pastry cases and coffee display, to give you a look at everything on offer that day.
Check out a few more photos of the space below, as well as a couple of food shots so you know what to point to when you finally get in to try the whole menu. FrankieLucy should be officially open by next week, keeping weekday hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (closed Mondays), and truncated 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. hours Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. hours Sunday.
