Looks like a pair of shutters for Knuckle & Claw, the New England seafood shack focused on making prime lobster rolls in both Santa Monica and Silver Lake. Effectively immediately, both storefronts have ceased operation.
The sudden shutter comes at what had been an uncertain time for the company, as their Santa Monica patio-heavy outpost underwent a major menu overhaul just back in October. While initially focused on doing a variety of seafood rolls and other snacky items, that location transitioned into a more evening-friendly option that included raw bar selections and grilled seafood.
Unfortunately it seems the new look and feel couldn’t keep owners Nikki Booth and Chloe Dahl from pulling the plug. The pair released a handwritten notice to customers about the closure, and it’s posted below:

That notice has since been reproduced on the company’s website, and Yelp lists both locations as closed. No word yet on what’s next for Booth and Dahl.
