Looks like the Scarpetta space won’t be down for long, as news comes today that none other than Geoffrey Zakarian, Iron Chef winner and East Coast mega-restaurateur, will be running things inside the Montage Beverly Hills hotel in no time.
There are plans, per an insider, to open both a restaurant called Georgie and a separate The Garden Bar, each with likely overlapping but slightly separate menus. Per Zakarian’s own site, Georgie will be a Modern American restaurant serving three square meals a day, while the Garden Bar will be more of a lounge area, though also open all day doing everything from coffee to cocktails.
Of course, Zakarian is never one to shy away from upscale opulence and hotel grandeur. The longtime restaurateur not only runs The Palm Court and The Lambs Club in New York City, he also was the big splash behind The Water Club at Borgata in Atlantic City, and is the overall culinary director for iconic The Plaza Hotel in New York.
Expect Georgie and The Garden Bar to come to life in Beverly Hills sometime this summer — after Scarpetta closes, that is.
