A former photography store in Mar Vista has been turned into Rustic Kitchen Market & Cafe, a new comfort food spot for the neighborhood. Owners Noelle and John Fanaris opened the restaurant right around the turn of the New Year, bringing in easy-eating options like fried egg sandwiches for breakfast, mac & cheese for lunch, and steak frites for dinner.

The corner space on Centinela is also soon to land a beer and wine license, which will expand their evening options to include beer and wines by the glass and a slew of weekend winemaker events. The room holds three dozen seats at a time though there’s a small sidewalk patio around the corner as well. There’s also a small retail component, with takeaway options for everything from organic eggs to Nueske’s bacon to Groundwork coffee.

Rustic Kitchen keeps daily hours (except Tuesday) from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and sits at the corner of Woodgreen and Centinela in Palms, a block south of Palms Boulevard.
