No more Wee Man in Redondo Beach

The Wee Man-branded Chronic Tacos has moved on from its Redondo Beach location, says the company, with the PCH address currently locked up tight. There are plans to reemerge in the area at a later date, though nothing concrete yet.

Pasadena passes a new minimum wage

Fresh off their big vote, the city of Pasadena has decided to enact a rise to $15 an hour by the year 2020, which is on par with cities like Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and Long Beach. It’s also against the wishes of their own Chamber of Commerce, and will included tipped employees and strong enforcement for wage theft.

Petit Trois gets into the happy hour game

It looks like Petit Trois is ramping up a happy hour — not that those barstools are ever easy to come by. The popular Parisian spot will do a so-called cocktail hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays only, which will feature some small bites and one new specialty cocktail every week.

Ricky's Fish Tacos does dinner now

If you haven't heard, Ricky's been taking the truck out for dinner lately, parking near Downtown at 1st and Beaudry. Evening hours usually run from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

With locations in Las Vegas and Hollywood, the party spot is known for its outlandish parties and over-the-top entertainment, which sound suspiciously like the Playboy Mansion already. Of course, getting the proper paperwork in order to operate as a full-on club (not to mention actually buying the property) could be a bit of a barrier to entry.

What is L.A.’s vegan scene going to look like?

Tal Ronnen of Crossroads talks about the vegan scene in Los Angeles to LA Magazine, with nods to places like Gracias Madre and the Gadarene Swine. With a recently-launched daily brunch service and a look towards the future, it seems a great time to be Ronnen.
