Genesis Hopes to Remake the Nightclub Template in Hollywood

Jeremy Fall's dance classic is back, this time on Hollywood Blvd.

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

Jeremy Fall knows his way around nightlife, and how bringing a certain kind of quality will eventually transform Hollywood's scene. Enter Genesis, his original nightlife pop-up that's now permanently embedded in the iconic Paul & Andre space. Gone are all the knick knacks, and here to stay are some classy AF vintage chandeliers.

Fall believes that the way to transform nightlife is to take away the things that impede the experience: bottle service, douchey cocktails, and cover charges. Instead: quality spirits (pick a cocktails, they'll try and make it for you); a simple email RSVP; and a basic dress code that simply says "no flip flops and shorts if you're a guy." As for music — dance and hip-hop tunes from the 90s; you know, the kind of stuff you actually want to move to.

Officially open tomorrow evening, with expanded service in the weeks to come.
