Well, for one night only, at Cofax.

Beloved chef Evan Funke has been in the wind since departing from his Culver City handmade pasta destination Bucato (which promptly closed without him, btw) last year, popping up every once in a blue moon for one special occasion or another. Now he’s back for another one-night-only installment, and he’s bringing along his perfect porchetta.

The Saturday evening event is throwing down at Cofax on Fairfax, where Funke himself will be on hand to make $10 porchetta sandwiches — with a $2 add-on for a fried egg, naturally. Funke posted the details on his Instagram, with hours running from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen pop-ups inside the coffee and doughnut spot Cofax. Others have dropped in (including former Gjusta chef Emmy Miller) for various events over the months, though it’s likely that Funke’s will be the biggest draw yet. After all, just about everyone has been waiting anxiously to see what the burly ex-Bucato maestro will do next.
