There was little doubt that the explosion of shaved ice and ice cream stores that tore through Los Angeles over the past few years would eventually come to an end. Sweet Crush, the Asian-inspired frozen treat specialist serving milk and water-based sheared ice to the denizens of Brentwood has closed its doors.
However, Toddrickallen reports that a sign posted on the door claims that it's not the last time shaved ice lovers can get Sweet Crush's goods. Sweet Crush will be popping up at events around town that will be posted on Facebook, but the days of its trippy backlit walls are gone for good.
In other Westside closure news, long time sushi counter Seiki-Shi inside the Century City food court has shut down, also according to roving reporter Toddrickallen. No word on what will replace that prime space inside the luxe food hall.
